Cards of thanks
MACLEAN. We the family of the
late Gwen MacLean (February 23,
2016) would like to express our
sincere, heartfelt thanks to family,
friends, neighbours, Wingham and
District Hospital and Health Centre
staff, Drs. Bonnie and Shaun
Marshall, Braemar compassionate
staff, OneCare, Clergy, McBurney
Funeral Home and volunteers.
Thank you for your love and
support, for prayers, errands, phone
calls, home visits, cards, food,
flowers, your generosity, patience,
compassion, kindnesses, encourage-
ment and hugs. Gwennie so often
expressed to us how eternally
grateful she was for all the care and
compassion she received which gave
her a greater courage and hope
during her illness. She would
minister to others at every
opportunity believing that, "Grace is
the power of God to meet our needs
and solve our problems." Gwen was
born at Brantford General Hospital
on June 26, 1954. She was raised in
Troy, ON. When she turned 11 years
old the family relocated to Belgrave
on a dairy farm. She was a graduate
of F.E. Madill Secondary School.
She continued her education and
received diplomas in Fitness and
Nutrition and Personal Counselling.
She worked at a variety of jobs and
always claimed to be a "jack of all
trades and master of none". In 1975
Gwen married Jim MacLean and
they had a beautiful daughter,
Marilyn. Gwen found Christian
fellowship centering within the
community of Wingham. She
volunteered for several years playing
bagpipes with the Brussels Legion
Pipe and Drum Band. She enjoyed
showing a wide variety of dog
breeds. She was an avid knitter and
would gift many of her crafts. Above
all else, Gwennie shared her faith in
Jesus freely and told of His love to
everyone! In fulfillment of Gwen's
wishes we will celebrate her life on
her birthday Sunday, June 26, 2016
at the Belgrave Community Centre.
Peace, love and grace to all, from
Jim, Mary, Marilyn, Joyce, Keith,
Dan, Cathy, Glen, Chris, Nicole,
Brody, Chanda, Kash, Kate, Cam,
Carsen, Sidney, Jarrett, Tim and
Katrina. 10-1
WILLIAMSON. There are no
words to express our feelings when
we all heard about the passing of
Neil. He had impacted the lives of so
many people in the neighbourhood,
his co-workers, family, neighbours
and friends near and far. We all
thought when he retired from
McGavin's we were going to wile
away the days with him cutting grass
and tinkering with the many projects
he had in the shed. We did pack a lot
of adventures into the last couple of
months and some of that was spent
travelling the roads in, no less, the
golf cart, laughing and enjoying the
time together. Neil passed away, the
way he lived, up to his elbows in
grease. He got tapped on the
shoulder and was taken away quietly
that day. Peacefully and quick, the
way he had hoped. For all of us who
knew him, his voice will be in our
heads for the rest of our lives telling
us what and what not to do. On
Sunday, February 21 when our
extended family was gathered to say
our last goodbyes to Neil, 46 years
ago, to the day, they were there to
hear Neil and me say, "I do!" To the
book of knowledge that came in the
form of Neil "Wimpy" Williamson,
we close out the last chapter of his
life and thank him for all he shared
with us while he was here. We want
to thank our family, our friends and
neighbours and just everyone for all
your help, now, and in the future.
Also, for all the cards, donations,
flowers, food, phone calls, and
McGlynn Funeral Home for
assisting us to deal with the loss of
Neil. There are so many of you out
there to thank. God Bless you all.
— Doris, Brian and Lone, Gary and
all our grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. 10-1
