At "Winnipeg We visited• brief-
ly With. relatives, in • that city in-
cluding an aunt, Mrs: Etta. Het
wig, ..and, •by. telephone with a
Feat -aunt,;; Mrs:. Mary (Campo,

Arriving in Vancouver'. • oil
Sunday We, spent theday with
Mr. and Mrs.. Wm. Hewat 'and
other :relatives 'and believe it or
riot, spent, the afternoon salmon
fishing • in the ;Straits, of Georgia

The three-day • session , was.
packed . with business;, • that got
underway with • a:. wake=up

-' Highlights „of the' social' side
was a night: at the Marco Polo in
Vancouver's ,Chinatown, which
.'got underway , with ' a • f irevvorks
• display • and "lions dance" on the.
street, which is seldom seen, and
was viewed .;not only by the
newspaper party, .but : "half of
Chinatown" who' gathered ,at the
:intersection, and brought . P ender
•St :,traffic literally to' :a .halt. A
ten -course meal, and floor show
climaxed . the evening,
Not to be outdone the ':Japan-
ese Trade Center tendered a re-
ception on. Wednesday night,
featuring exotic foods from
.from
Japan andtheir' national drink,
sake._ ,y
The return journey was made
by the C.N.R.'s. Super Continent-
al by way of Kamloops, Jasper,
Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winni-
peg and Capreol, arriving in.
Toronto in .mid-afternoon Sun
day.. ..
The brief stay in Vancouver
was so packed withactivity that
time: did not • permit . making
several • contacts we ,hadhoped
to., We did speak•. with Mrs. Jas.

They . plan to visit here this fall
with;.her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
P;: 'M Johnston.' Another phone
contact' *as..with. Mr.. • and Mrs.
Kenzie Webb and to our. pleas-
ant surprise they were at the
train •on ...Thursday for . a. Chat

Our train travel onboth lines
was: most ;enjoyable and it per-
mitted . relaxiation and ' friendly
intercourse with fellow travels,.
that is. not ...possible by: other
means of transportation.' It was
indeed . a. most' enjoyable • trip.

presented at an impressive cere-
mony,,at Eganyille to Margaret
' Stuart, • .
Margaret is the daughter of

Guide for .the pant, -four ybars
and. has been Patrol' and Comp-
any' leader. Margaret has two
other sisters' who • are ' Girl.

. The mother .of the girls is the
former Ethel. Martin, daughter
of the late +Mr. and, Mrs, W:. R.
Martin of Paramount. Mrs. Stu-
art has shown :.particular inter-
est in Guiding, and is presently
surving a "three-year term on the.
Provincial Board.

Through • the annual, appeal for -
funds and .because of . the sup-,
port . of • the good •people' of this
community, the ,CNIB '•4R: • service
program is. made 'Possible. "You'
are Their. Eyes" ;when you. give.
