niversary on Monday, May 16th.
Mrs. Dexter 1.has been a patient
in Wingham , hospital for about
ten weeks, and seldom . apart,
Mr. Dexter was at her bedside
on . this ',anniversary occasion,
which 'few are •spared to observe.
When a :photographer took
their • picture, Mrs.: Dexter wore
a stole,, procured for her in
Spain by her granddaughter,
F.O.. Shirley. Robinson.
Mr:.. and. Mrs.' Dexter were
married :in England. in ' 1899, and
came to Canada ' in 1913, where
Ted took ' up blacksmithing' at
"Little Buffalo," six, miles west
of`':Lucknow He ' was . apprenticed
to the trade : well over. seventy
years ago, ' and onlyrecentlyhas,
ceased to work at it: • Mr. Dexter
"retired" to ,Lucknow 'about '16
years no, ' but the services of
this' skilled workman; continued
in • demand. , . .

He was occupying the pulpit
where his father, the ,late Rev.
Rev.
C:. ' H.' MacDonald preached for'.
twenty-five years from ,1925, un-
til 1950, and it was in ,front .of
•that 'altar., that ' `.`Doug",
as he is
familiarly known, was ordained
twenty years ago.'
The guest ,,soloist was ;Rev.
Mac,Donald's sister, Mrs. Alvin
Mundell (Marion) of Belmore,
who sang at both services, in
addition to choir anthems, und-
er the direction of Mrs,. William
Scott, •.organist and' choir ,leader.
,Sunday's services marked the,
70th' anniversary of the dedicat-
ing , of the present church in
1890, having been built after
the joining of the two Presby-
terian congregations in the vil-
lage .K'ripx and St. Andrews,
which' became known siMply as
the Lucknow Presbyterian

Holyrood observed her: 86th
birthday on Monday, Ma'y 16th.
She continues to enjoy fairly
good health, in spite of the fact
that she has` been an ,arthritic
invalid for ten years. '

has ; been confined to a chair;;'
unable to take a step. Her hands;
however, are unaffected by the
rheumatic . condition ' and she
does a . great deal of • knitting
and crocheting.
