"SMILEY"
Here's, a line or , two. I'll, .pass along ; . . about the Home
Town Paper;
Andthe column, that is Smiley's • ; , for he often cuts up capers,
He, .mostly writes just how he • feels . `a don't matter if ' it's
bad Or :nice, '
bless his heart that .column 'is . the one alled "Sugar
,But
,,•n' Spice." .
Its a pleasure every week you know, to read What's on his mind,
His sense of humor is so keen but he's also naive and kind;
Some''things he writes about . I know . .. make the young feel ,
folks But some older and curious,
ant takethe jokes and 'it often
makes them 'furious! • '
He ' minces not just how he feels , one can take .at for.
what it's worth,
But that's. our . "Smiley", he's quite a guy ;'. •.. and he's '
down. to ,earth." .
A hoe's a hoe '-= and a spade's •a.- spade • . some ,:folks' would:'
really.'like to. maul : him; •
Bid' if , you don't like what he ' writes well brother, • that's
YOUR+ Problem!'
One reads a lot of :this and that, from papers that comeand go,
But we wouldn't ; trade:.•our Smiley's.: column for any
•• that we knoiw .,
•
It's quite: refreshing in these days. .. amid such 'strain and strife,
To hear .the ,little homey , things .. about his family, (kid
• and ' wiife),
He *likes to :joke' and `tease about his . "Battleaxe" and all,
• But we know by now his •`"Battleaxe" . is a mighty Pretty 'doll!
Twas 'fun to .read of the time they Moved . for moving; IS
/ quite . a mess, •
Fbr..: that' jot, I: truly will agree . puts men's • souls to a teat,,; .
So :keep your' column rolling it 'brings • sunshine every week,
youruP
For, " there' with the best of ahem. : • : and "we •know .•
.
you can't he beat! . .
The humor ; an d• the nonsense • is really awful nice,
We love Bill Smile. s column . of dear old "Sugar..n' Sice."
