Mr. ,and;. Mrs. Ewart Jamieson
;lifelong .- residents of Ashfield.
Township. are • retiring, to Luck,
now to make • their -home, and
before their departure,. neighbors.
• •. and friends dropped 'in at their
,farm home for a Social evening.
During ' the evening, Mr. and
Mrs. '.Jamieson . were, .presented
with a woollen blanket and an.
electric kettle' as an expression,
of ,good wishes and the esteem in
which they are held. '
Ewart was bornon this farm,
which his grandfather, •John
Jamieson took up in 1871. Ewart's
father took over the farm in
• 1889, and upon his death Ewart
succeeded, him in 1913. Mr. Jamie-
son's mother, the former Clara
Finlay, 'died in, 1934.
Mr. and . Mrs. Jamieson will be
forty years married in June and
have spent all their married life
on'. the 'farm. •She is the former
Annie Cowan, and for some time
has not epjoyed • the .best of
• health. They •haveone daughter, -
,Pearl, Mrs. Everett Whitehead: of
Teeswater. A daughter,. Marguer-
, ' itedied at the age of 11.
