The third annual Convention, of
the Grey•0,Bruce Area Women's
Institute Branches' was. -held in
the Town Hall,, Hanover,' on
Thursday and' Friday, October 26
and 27, with about four hundred.
members in attendance. The
theme of the,convention was "Our
Area As` Part , of the, National
Scene•..''

The Thursday morning session
was. presided.. over by. Mrs. Don-
ald McCosh::of• R.R. .3' Ripley:
• Mrs. Victor. Emerson' of White-
church read the minutes of the
former convention, and 'Mrs. T. J.
Cornish, of Chesleyapresented the
treasurer's .. report,; up .to August
31st, 1961, showing a • total of
51.,054.$0. dealt with, including the
Provincial grant of .$75;;' fees col-
lected; ,banqu.et Proceeds, :$046:50;
expenses, $493,05; officers' mile-
age ' paid, $140.06; postage, $17.;

Convention, held in Vancouver
during the ' past. 'summer and
which she had attended as a de-`
legate. She spoke ' of the speak-
. ers, entertainment, the panels and
discussions.
Mrs. L. G. •Lymburner of Port
Colborne, President of the, Fed-
erated Women"s .Institutes of
Ontario, was ' the speaker of the
-afternoon.' She congratulated the
Area on the interest shown in.
the Area. She urged the branches.
to support the Adelaide Hoodless:-
project. in the • purchase; of ,the,
founder's home.: The work was
progressing well, and much of the
renovation., was completed.
