It now includes in its Member- ship over 200 public and private hospitals, of varying _size : and character. There are more than twice this number : of Nursing Homes in the province, many. ser wing .communities that are miles from the nearest hospital. Some nursing homes are as largeand as hansomely equipped, by pri- vate capital, as ' many of the smaller, public hospitals. Accep- tance into the Hospital Associa- tion, as associate members, wilt follow inspection . and approval by an inspectionteam from the Tor- onto office of the 0.H.A. Invi- tations to apply for ..this inspec- tion and membership will begin to go out to Nursing Homes about June. 1st, Mr. Slute indicated. Membership Qualifications Study was given to the quali_ .fications to -be required of homes .that will be accepted into mem- bership. These .are` basically those' laid, . down by the provincial Law of 1'1958 .'authorizing the licensing of Nursing Homes by Municipal ities, after strict inspection.
