tion at Omen ..meetingo n'Tuesday night, of last week,.. A :
A brief from the Ontario Water 'Resources Commission • was
tabled at last week's 'meeting , and after considerable discussion
council decided to , arrange a meeting with the Commission' to
`discuss the proposal.
In their; brief,. the ;commission stated that some septic tanks
were discharging waste •. into . the Lucknow River through private
drains and ::connectionsto the storm sewers. •
The proposed' sewage system would cover only ;a small • por-
tion of the village, namely' the down town area where drainage
is -and has . been a problem. The •area thatwould be ' corrected
would be roughly from the ' factory east to the • MacTavish Tire.
Exchange street, and north and south about a "block, each way: A
proposed trunk -lune would empty in 'a lagoon south of Ander-
son Flax Products Ltd. , •
The remainder of the village. would. NOT come under the
proposed plan, by OWRC:
Council` are aware :af. the drainage problems that exist in the
area described and feel that some other method of correction
could :ossibly be: employed that: would . alleviate the • .condition
possibly.

plan, Lucknow's Sassessment is slightly
over 1 Million
