Mr. Russel Ritchie had the mis-
fortune while returning home on
Saturday afternoon with a load
of chop to have the 'bus strike
the reach of his wagon, in order
to: avoid • a collison with Rev. Mac -
Donald's car. The . accident oc-
curred `;in front of Mr. Frank
Graham's. The reach of the wag-
on and the harness were broken.

Mirehouse, only son of Mr. and.
Mrs. Jos. Mirehouse of Lydden,
Sask. Rev. L. H. 'Sanders of Big-
gar performed the ceremony. The
bride wore a Queen's- blue street
length. gown of supreme moment
crepe and Mrs., Ida Wuttunee, the
bride's attendant, wore. 'a gown
of brown alpaca crepe.: Mr. Joe.
Aylward was groomsman; A wed-
ding supper was served in the,
Biggar hotel. After a honeymoon
spent at Battleford the couple
will reside' on the groom's farm.

UNVEILED MEMORIAL
IN SON'S . MEMORY
Rev. Herbert Naylor, rector of
Christ Church, Listowel, conduc-
ted a special ceremony on. Sun-
day, July 16th, .when, the unveil-
ing took place of a beautiful
silver cross; mounted on a three
tiered silver ,pedestal, . in memory
of Sgt. William C Scott,who was
killed in April 1943.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Scott, ' par-
ents of the young airman who
paid the supreme sacrifice, - stood
on either side of the flag draped
menioriaL Mrs.. Scott drew the
cords unveiling it. The inscrip-
tion on ,the memorial reads: Pre-
sented in loving memory of Ser-
geant Air - bomber. William C.
Scott, killed in operational flight
during the World War, by his
parents, James and Dorothy
Scott.
Mr. Scott was formerly the Bell
, Telephone service man in this
community, and is well known
by many here.
