' tember 1st next if 'sufficient qual- I
ified nurses can be secured, the
new health committee of County
Council, presided over 'by Dep-
uty Reeve D. D. Mooney, deyided'
at its first meeting held in God-
erich on Tuesday . afternoon. The
"if" is an -important one, for. Miss
I Moore, superintendent of public
health nursing in.Ontario, told
the committee there was soine
doubt " as to whether or not a
i
sufficient number of the, proper
kind of nurses could be secured,
so scarce were they .a' the',pres-
ent time. ' However', Miss "Moore
was empowered by motion to
locate from three to five nurses,
one with . supervising ability, if
possible. The 'Pr_ovincial superin-
tendent was acconp nied by : her
assistant, Miss Wright. •
During the course of her out-
line of the proposed scheme Miss
Moore said that the . first move
of the committee would be to
get the, consent' of every' school
board ' in ,the county, to the
scheme., She said that a county
centre would have to be set -up,
office established and equipment
purchased. The' salary of the nur-
ses ranged from $1400 t�. 1800 per
year;'.` plus. car : allowance. The
nurses. would purchase their own
cars . and 'Maintain and" "service
them from the allowance,_Tmueh
as do county .policemen...

Dickson, died on Friday in Alex-..

pital, Goderich, where he•had' 1
1been a patient since suffering a
, severe stroke three weeks pre-
I vious. He was in his 73rd year.
He was •born in Ashfield Town-
ship, son , of Thomas Dickson and
Elizabeth Armstrong Dickson and
was ' married June 21, 1894, - to
Miss Mary Matilda 'Reed. There
were eight children, Mrs. (Rev.)
C. E. Taylor, Thamesford; Miss
Minnie Dickson, Reg.N:, superin-
tendent of Goderich Hospital;.
Mrs. Murray Dyer of ., Guelph;
Mrs: W. " H "Bryan,- at. --'home
Thomas Dickson,. Con.. 3, West,
Wawanosh; Fred, 'overseas; and
Melvin, Con. 5, Ashfield. One son,
Williarh, •predeceased him.
Mr. Dicksort. liad' `been a resi-
dent of.' Ashfield until ' about 3
years ago when he sold his '150-
acre farm to his youngest son and
'retired to Dungannon. A member
of, Dungannon United church he
was also 'a member 'of session and
of the official board. He had been
president . of the Dungannon
branch of the Bible . Society. ..
The . funeral was held- on Morn-
day with a private service at the
home ' at 2 o'clock anda public
service at Dungannon 'United.
Church at 2.30 .i .in. Rev. H. J.
Vickerson officiated and inter-
ment was in Dungannon Cemet-
ery.
Pallbearers were Hugh Stew-
art, D. S. Errington, J. J. Ryan,
H. J. L. Eedy, Wilfred Quaid arid
E. W. Bryans. Flower bearers
were PatsyDwyer; Lavoin and
Marjorie Taylor, Donald, Allan
and Harold Dickson, Allan Reid,
Girvin Reed, Grant Farrish, Rod-
erich •and» Donald MacKenzie,
Dickson Taylor, Dave Courvois-
ier, Chas. Wilkins and Mel Ste-
wart. -
Among the wealth of floral tri,
butes which evidenced the es-
teem • in which Mr. Dickson was
held, were those from the God-
Star.

erich Hospital Board, . Hospital
employees and Nile school pupils.
Mr. Dickson will be .greatly miss
ed in every phase of life : in ' this
community.
