of„ the late' Walter McGow-
an and Rebecca Cuming.:, He was
born on the nekttarindto the one.
on which.he now resides.
Before her marriage Mrs. Mc-
Gowan, was Maggie Murdock,
•daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
John Murdock of Ashfield Town-
ship.: The couple were married
in 'Ashfield Trnship at the
bride's- hOme--near --Lucknow -on
January 18th, 1894. The Rev. Axt-•
gus McKay performed the cere-
mony. ' ' . '
Since their marriage they have
been continuous residents of East
Wawanosh Township. The brides-
maid was Miss, Nell. DicksOn of
Hamilton, and the best man was
Daniel McGowan, now residing
