Dr. W. V. Johnston,chairman •
Lucknow, Blood Donor Service,
Lucknow, Ontario.
„Dear Dr. Johnston:-
The Canadian Red Cross Soc-
iety is most' appreciative° of the
very' • significant contribution
made by yourself and those as-
sociated with you in the opera-
tion of the local Blood.Donor
clinic during the year 1943. With
the -anticipated early -invasion of
Europe by Canadian'.and- Allied
forces, there will.be an increased
demand' for blood =serum. " The -
Only possible way. of meeting this
demand' is to increase the num-
ber Of donations from every clin-
ic. Therefore, at the last 'meet-
ing of the ,National Blood Donor
Committee quotas ° fora all. Prov-
inces were reviewed, and a new
objective of 20,000 blood': dona-
tions per week to be obtained by
April 1st, 19444 • was set. Frankly.
the situation is serious and' we
are. leaning heavily on you' in
this matter:
Yours sincerely,
