ESCAPED MAURY
WHEN STRUCK BY CAR
R, J. Moore miraculously
escaped injury. on Monday even-
ing when struck by 'a car in front
of his shop. Mr. Moore had start-
•
ed across the street when he not-
iced the car bearing down on
him. He jumped back but .,the
Motorist swung the 'same way in
trying to avoid him. The bumper
struck Bob on theleg and knock-
ed him to the ,pavement. The
motorist, whom, Mr. • Moore didn't
know, stopped and helped him
up, •considerably, relieved to
learn that a bruise or •twoand
a few : scratches were the 'extent
of the injuries.
With a bit of lack, I might
manage to stay on a course, with
the • hope of a few days around
-i home at Christmas. Holidays
mean a lot more than they did
in school days—we never knew
how much we enjoyed What we
haduntil bhe ration system was,
introduced.
Yours very truly,
Gordon, McIntyre.

Dear Campbell:
Usually I have been able to
drop in on you, and pay my sub-
scription in person, but now the
letters' "A.W.L." would appear
after my name in Part II Orders,
were I to' attempt to do so. ; So
I'll trust the honesty of some of
the other servants of His Majesty,
and send you• a couple of dollars
by mail: The Sentinel has been
a "most awaited'' aiticl.e, both .in.
Sigqdk,. Lookout and now . in the
Armmy. I need not add that Dor-
• othy enjoys it even more than
I do, and that means a lot,
As for myself, I am busier thin
a revolving door at Eaton's '.at
half an .hour before closing time
—tearing around like mad, but
, not sure I am getting any'Wherr„,.
This II,:D.F:` course. radar . in
the popular terminology, is a
grand course, but maybe a mite
too difficult for one whose abil-
ity to learn a lot in a short time
is beginning to show .'signs of
wear. However, with Dorothy
here, I could• almost admit -I am
epj'oying army life. '
