tailed the consumption' "of 'power
considerably; but a further 18'perl
cent reduction ;in' the average
daily consumption is necessary if

achieved.:by cutting 'village street
,lighting by 50 percent. To do this
every. other .street' light has been
turned off, the. affect being very
noticeable on main street:
The consumption cut which '1s,
demanded by: the Ontario Hydro
Electric System is 10 percent of
the average daily ` consumption
during the basic 'period of ,,,Oct-
ober 1947. • ' •
Lucknow and associated' rural
consumption- at that time, was
6,161 kwhrs. But, last,week when
the order..went. into; effect, the

percent, butan additional•18 per-
cent saving must be 'affected or
periodic Cut-offs will surely be
imposed. •
