JOINT EDITION
Editor's Corner
It's been a long cold winter so you can con-
gratulate yourself if you managed to survive.
But with Spring comes bright sun, warm weather
and new life.
The Bayfield Post and Zurich News is resuming
publication and should appear at local places
of business every otLer Thursday
We invite societies, groups and individuals
to send in news of their activities, sporting
events, social happenings or whatever.
The Argentina versus England War has turned
ugly. moth sides have lost naval units with
the loss of many lives. It is unfortunate
that the ego trips of dictatorial junta
leaders in Argentina are causing the death
of thousands of young men.
There are those who say that England should
have turned the Falkland Islands over to
Argentina years ago. Perhaps so. Ths same
could be said of Northern Ireland and
Gibraltar. Exaggerated national pride on
the part of some nations has always been the
spark needed to set off different conflicts
throughout history.
However one sees the above,Argentine leaders
in an act of irresponsible bravado started
this war and now we will read about its
consequences. The donkeys start wars and the
innocent are always its victims.
Ruth Zielman of the Village Floral and
Gift Shop is now the representative of
the Zurich News in Zurich. News items
and advertising can be left with Ruth and
they will find their way into the paper.
Tuesday remains the deadline for news and
advertising.
We are hoping people will use Ruth's
delightful shop as a convenient drop-
off point for the paper.
The next issue of The
Bayfield Post and Zurich
News will be out on May 20.
Mother's Day
4
23
Mother's Day is this coming Sunday. Many
youngsters don't appreciate their mothers.
They don't think. They don't think or see
what their mothers do and sacrifice on their
behalf. However with adults it should be
different. Adults should know the worth and
value of their mothers.
If your mother is still alive do something
special to make her feel good this Mother's
Day. If you live near her, visit her. If
you don't phone her., send her a note or card.
Invite her for dinner or 'take her out for
dinner. Let her know you care.
We never know, we don't live forever, she
,ust might not be around next Mother's Day.
Do it now.
Bayfield's Dining Industry
When we think of industry in Huron County
we might think of the heavy machinery indus-
try in Goderich, or the fishing industry, or
the farm industry, or the lumber and building
industry or whatever.
There is one industry that is concentrated
in Bayfield and makes Bayfield a centre for
fine eating.
There are five year-round eating establish-
ments in and around Bayfield and three more
are added to that during the Tourist Season.
For those who want a bite on the run there
are two fast food outlets as well.
Bayfield has become a centre for those who
enjoy dining out. The reason is not hard
to discover. Bayfield's eating and dining
establishments offer quality food and
pleasant atmosphere at reasonable prices.
Visitors and area people alike have recog-
nized this and the food industry in Bayfield
should have a bright future.
