by Chanda Chilton
Thursday evening, December 10 was a
special night at the Bayfield Anglican
Parish Hall when 6 girls became enrolled
as Guides. They were Angela Dunn, Wendy
Madsen, Lisa Porter, Jody Merner, Lisa
Linfield and Tracy Talbot.
Guider Jean Dunn welcomed the parents and
she and Guider Joyce Chilton honoured the
new members with their pins and scarves,
gifts from the Parents Committee. The
whole company looked sharp as they all
said the Guide Promise and renewed the
Guide Law. As this time of sharing is
drawing near, the tree was decorated with
apples and each girl shared one= if we
each take just a little, there'll be
sufficient for all.
After games and campfire a delicious snack
ended the evening.
Personal Christmas Greetings must be into
the newspaper office no later than Monday,
December 21. We would like them in before
that late date, but December 21 will be
the last date if they are to be published.

BAYFIELD'S "EVER YOUNG" ENJOY
CHRISTMAS FESTIVITIES
The Ever Young Senior Citizens of Bayfield once
again enjoyed their Annual Christmas Dinner
together on December 2nd with about 70 in attend-
ance. Held in St. Andrew's United Church and
catered by the United Church Women, the dinner
was as bountiful as the Seniors have come to
expect.
Tastefully decorated in the Christmas theme,
the Church Hall looked welcome and warm and was
enhanced by the table favours and head table
name places artistically fashioned by Milvena
Erickson; for which a vote of thanks was
expressed.
President James B. Higgins presided over the
festivities and called on Rev. Alun Thomas
to ask the blessing; Rev. William Bennett who
offered a brief Christmas message; Monsignor
Bourdeau in his usual gentlemanly manners
brought greetings also and Canon Paull, who
stole the show with his profound remarks,
closing with his humorous drama, "My Brush
with the Law."
Harry Baker and Jean Bell each offered
delightful Christmas readings and Lillian
Higgins favoured with a poem she had com-
posed entitled "Again It Is Christmas."
Past president Len Carter moved a hearty
vote of thanks to the caterers for the deli-
cious meal.
A Sing Song of Christmas Carols followed
accompanied by the L. G. Higgins Orchestra
comprised of Rose Taman, piano, Alun Thomas,
Guitar and Steve Argyle, violin, and led by
singers Lillian Higgins, Harry Baker, Len
Carter, Clair Merner and Bill Parker. They
were joined by those present in a most
enthusiastic manner.
Everyone agreed that Pres. J. B. Higgins
had done a "great job" of arranging such a
delightful party.
