Hallowe'en has come and gone. Where all the
youngsters came from is a marvel but there were
lots of them. The weather was perfect. The
kids were super. It was just a happy time.
This was our first Hallowe'en in Bayfield.
What impressed this resident was how polite
the kids were. They were happy, excited but
always polite. There wasn't one "little mon-
ster" who didn't say "thank you". It was a
good evening.
Another reminder to use your weekly newspaper
to announce coming events or meetings, or to
tell us about them after they are past. Let
your neighbour know what is going on. It just
takes a minute or two to jot something down.
It may seem like a little thing, but its
these little things that will make your news-
paper yours.
Christmas Greetings - If you want to reserve
space for your Christmas Greetings to family
and friends, please let us know in the near
future. If there are a significant number of
residents who want to send Christmas Greetings
we might publish a separate 4 page community
Christmas Card with all the individual greet-
ings in it. If the number of individual
greetings is not sufficient for a separate
4 page publication, then we will set aside a
page or two in the Christmas edition of the
paper for that purpose.
The cost to publish a Christmas greeting will
be $3. Lengthy greetings could be a bit
higher.
IN RECOGNITION OF HER SERVICES
At a meeting of The Sir Arthur Pearson
Association of War Blinded, Beryl Hogg was
awarded National Honorary Membership in the
Association in recognition of her services as
Secretary and Friend. There is a warm affec-
tion between Beryl and her "boys".
Sir Arthur had founded St. Dunstan's in
England for the purpose of rehabilitation
of the First World War Blind Veterans in order
that they might retain their dignity and take
their places in the Community. The Canadian
counterpart was named after Sir Arthur and
continues to work with D.V.A. and other
agencies for the blind, for the advancement
of the cause of war blinded veterans and their
widows and families.
