Letters to the Editor
October, l,aai
`)ear Mr. & Mrs. T?urt ^n ,
7nclo:;e1 is a cheque in the amount of ten
dollars for an Honorary Subscription in
your excellent paper. The articles have
been interesting; the advertisements tell
us "Where to Go'."; we have met, and will
meet, the merchants, clergy, and citizens
through your imaginative columns. Visitors
from without the local communities have red
my copies and visited the stores with enjoy-
ment and are pleased with merchandise and
prices - they go hone with loaded cars:
We, as fairly newcomers, have been delighted
with the warm friendliness in Bayfield, as
have yourselves. Since this is so, we believe
your subscriptions will flow in - and more
power to you: Have you thought of "Coming
Events"? Or would this be redundant since
they appear in the "Clinton Record?"
Beryl & Alex Hogg
EDITOR'S NOTE:
In this week's paper we have an "UJpcomin.g
Events" column. We will keep this up as
long as you people out there let us know
what is happening.

To the Editor:
I have recently had occasion to become very
interested in the policies and procedures of
the Bayfield Cemetary Board, and would like
to attend their meetings to have a better
understanding of their endeavour to serve
the community.
In talking to one board member I learned
that they usually have four meetings a year,
or whenever enough business accumulates to
warrant a meeting - also that they have an
annual meeting.
I have also talked to the member who seems
to call these meetings and he could not give
me any idea of when the next meeting would
take place.
I believe it would further serve the com-
munity, and especially those who have bought
or are planning to buy plots in the "new"
section, to have notice of meetings published
in the newspaper so that they can attend same.

EDITOR'S NOTE:
To those of you who have sent in articles
which do not appear in this issue - they
will be printed in the November 5th issue
as they are most appropriate for Remembrance
Day.
EXCELLENT ADVICE
Before you speak, listen.
Before you write, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you invest,
investigate.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.
Before you retire, save.
Before you die, give.

Grade 5 Pupils Go
To The Banockburn
The purpose of their
trip was to study
wildlife. As they
walked they saw such
things as fallows,
wild mint, dolls eyes,
clover and fungi.
They studied uses of;
trees and other
sources of valuable
and invaluable wild-
life. They also saw
two bridges - one was
over the Walden River
connected with one
over the Banockburn
River. Supporting
them were gabian
baskets filled with
rocks. In searching
in Banockburn some
found as .many as
eight salamanders
per person. Lydia,
my sister, was one of
the lucky finders of
a salamander she
named Dandy. They also
saw red ant hills,
squirrels' homes,
ground hogs and brush
piles.
