AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
"Oh Give THANKS unto the Lord - for He is
good, for His mercy endureth forever. Let
the REDEEMED of the Lord - SAY SO - whom He
hath redeemed from the hand Of the enemy; -
Oh that men would PRAISE THE LORI) for HIS
goodness, and for. His wonderful works to the
children of men: For He S,^TISFIETH the
longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul
with goodness;"
Now friends, as we look into these wonderful
verses of scripture, I believe that DAVID is
looking for an ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE in the
hearts of the people of God. GRATITUDE -
for all that He has done for us, for all that
He has provided for us, and for all that lie
means to us from day to day. FOUR TIMES in
this one Psalm, in verses, 8, 15, 21, and
verse 31 the cry of the heart of David is:
"Oh that men would PRAISE; THE LORD for His
gcodness and for His wonderful works to the
children of men.
We might wellask ourselves: "For what does
Davidspecifically thank God? I believe that
first of all and foremost, he is THANKFUL for.
the GREAT SALVATION that God has lovingly and
gracicu.sly provided for all mankind.
We see this in VERSE 2 of this Psalm, where
we read: "Let the :1edeerned of the Lord SAY SO
- whom He hath redeemed from the handof the
enemy. We read also in I Peter chanter 1
and verse 18 "Forasmuch 9s ye know that ye
were not REDEEMED with corruptible things as
silver and mold from your vain conversation
received by tradition from your Fathers, but
with THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF CHRIST as of a
LAMB without blemish and without snot."
Never must,_we forget the infinite cost, of
our Redemption from the penalty and the
power of sin in our personal lives. The Bible
teaches that when Jesus Christ, the Son of God
died upon the Cross of Calvary, the very BLOOD
OF GOD fell upon this earth to fully pay the
price of our SALVATION• & OUR REDEMPTION.
Now as wellit is important • for us tc notice
FROM/: WHENCE the EI IgE; iED have come: - T_n
verse 3 we read: "And gathered them out of the
the lands, from the east, west, and from the
north ane from the south - they come friends,
from THE FOUR CORNERS OF THE WORLD - In rela-
tion 1:c this blessed truth, 1 love what we read
in the book of RVT L^.TICN, chapter 7 and verse

TUDE which no man could number of ALL NATIONS

and KINDREDS, and PEOPLE and TONGUES stood
before the throne and before the LAMB
clothed with white robes and palms -in their
hands.
In Verse 7 David says: "He led them forth
THE RIGHT WAY that they might go to a city
habitation.
by
of
Friends, the Bible plainly teaches that there
is a RIGHT WAY, and there 1.s a WRONG vAY to
the city of God - Proverbs chapter 4 and verse
12 says: "There is a way that SEEI:°PTH RIGHT
unto a man - but the end thereof are the ways
of death:" Then l think of what Jesus Christ
our Saviour said in John chanter 14 and
verse 6 - "I am the WAY, they TRUTH, and the
LIFE - NO MAN cometh unto the Father - but bis'
me"' t.
Let me ask you - during this wonderful
THANKSGIVING SEASON - Have you personally
and definitely GIVEN THANKS unto the Lord of
Glory - for ALL that He has graciously provi-
ded for you, and sacrificially done for you
through the blood of the everlasting covenant
shed for us in the death of Christ upon the
cross of Calvary?
You may express your heartfelt GRATITUDE
today as so many others have done down through
the centuries, in the words of the Apostle Paul
in 2 Corinthians, chapter 9 and verse 15,
"THANKS be unto God 4for HIS unspeakable gift:".

Kingston coast to

the Government which
pertain to all of us.
Our executive

The U.S.C.O. (The

tremendous job for us
and we welcome new mem-

it even stronger.
WE ARE ONLY AS OLD AS

OUTSIDE MY WINDOW
By Fran Burton
You may not know it,
but you have all seen
the best show in town.
Being "new" in the
Village I am acutely
aware of the much
superior stage facili-
ties here compared to
the technical -wise
cities. The perfor-
mers are without equal.
The endless parade of
costumes has been
staggering, each more
brilliant than the
last. So the finale
is here and we owe
this cast a big
round of applause.
BRAVO TO OUR TREES.
.
Now get outside and
start raking:
While sitting in my
sunporch today tapping
out "The Fost" I
watched the volunteer
firemen a newer n call
over at the fireball.
Seeing them come from
every which way, _froll
whatever they were busy
with at the time, and
Come so quickly,
me a very "safe" feel-
ing. It is reassurinar3
to know we ',.re in such
capable }-lands.
