Check This List of 20 Health -Destroying Habits.
How Many of Them Are Undermining Your Health?
A human being is a collection
of good or bad habits, and they
make or unmake his health. Man
can be the sum total of the health'
habits he creates and controls.
There are many bad habits that
make of him a weakling and should
he avoided.
Health is the habit of using fore-
sight instead of hindsight. If you
expect to reach a vigorous, ripe old
age, stop now and look ahead and
see where your mode of life is
leading you; then you can plan an
improvement in health procedure.
Here are 20 bad habits which
undermine good health:
1. Eating too much.
2. Eating too fast.
3. Eating between meals.
4. Eating when tired or worried.
5. Eating when not really hungry.
6. Failing to balance meals ac-
cording to food values.
7. Being irregular at meals.
8. Drinking ice water at meals.
9. Failure to drink enough water
between meals.
10. Failure to eat according to
your work, weight and temp-
erament.
11. Late hours; lack of sleep.
12. Rushing to work too soon
after meals.
13. Working or sleeping in poorly
ventilated rooms.
14. Breathing in a shallow, lazy,
half-hearted manner.
15. Allowing the teeth to go bad.
16. Straining or otherwise mal-
treating the eyes.
17. Staying indoors too mucli.
18. Yielding to anger, fear, worry.
depression and grief.
19. Underdoing or overdoing,
amount of daily exercise.
20. Not getting enough rest and
healthful relaxation to offset
the stress and strain of one's
daily routine.
Our health cannot be better than
the habits which either build or
destroy it. This fundamental fact
was memorably conveyed by an
oldtime rhyme:
"The strong, by bad habits,
grow weaker we know;
And by good ones, the weak
will grow stronger also."
