to be blessed with occasional show-
ers and favorable sunshine the real-
ization of their dreams will be filled
to good measure.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Chris.
Hetherington was the scene of a
very prat); but quiet wedding. on
Wednesday last when their teldest
daughtsr, Mary, was united in the
holy bonds of matrimony to Mr.
Duncan Thompson, only son of M r.
and Mrs. Jas. Thompson. The Rev..
Mr. Foster tied the knot which
made the happy couple one. After a
sumptuous dinner the bridal party
motored to Teeswater from where
the bride and groom left for Toronto
and Niagara Falls. %On their return
they will reside on the groom's
farm in this vicinity. We all join in
wishing Mr. and Mrs. Thompson a
happy journey through life.

ley returned to their home in Toron-
to after visiting their sister-in-law,
Mrs.Maude Dudley, of this burg.

Wm. Haldenby and sister, Mrs.
Dudley,' were thrown from their
buggy on Friday evening last on
their way to the •Holyrood garden
party. Fortunately neither 'was
much hurt and the horse trailed theoverturned rig bac*.to its starting
-point. The buggy, with the 'exeep-
tion of a few minor injuries, is little
the worse. Better buy a Ford, Wil:,
and be sure of control under all cor-
ditions.

when Elizabeth McCarthy, youns•est
daughter of Mrs. Florence McCarthy,
was united inmarriage to Mr.' Louis
Dalton. The youthful bricle, who
was given away by -her father, lboked
charming in a . gown of white .georg-
ette withsatin trinnine. She: wore
the bridal veil with wreath of •!range
blossoms' and maidenhair fern.. Her
sister, Miss Catherine McCarthy, in a
ssown of shell pink georgette with.
hat to nriatch, was bridesmaid,.tvhile
Mr. Charles .McCarthy acted as 'best
man. After the dinner, which was
given at the home of the bride, the
happy couple left by motor for Gad-•
erich where they took the train for
London, Detroit and other points, the
bride travelling in a navy blue suit
with braid trimmings and white
transparent hat. The young couple
were the recipients' of many heauti7
ful gifts, showing- the esteem in
which tht•y are hell.

UNION PICNIC,
On Thurdsay, July 1st, the 4th and
6th' Concesscons, Rinloss, held a
Union Picnic in the bush long known
as the "MacDougall Bush," ..GriaVei

one and a large crowd gathered to
spend a pleasant afternoon. -- An
interesting program of sports was

ing the hush. There were numerous

the two concessions. In the final wind.
up the trophy fell to the 6th Con.
_team. After lunch a short prosram
