the South Bruce • Women's Institute •
'at Iielmore 'on June 23rd. This
.meeting -was largely attended. Very
-encouraging. reports were. given from'
all the branches, telling of the differ-

the cornunmity• in which they are lo-
cated, which shows they are trying to
live up -to their motto, "For hlome
and Country." The 'President, Mrs.
Brill, of Teeswater, gave a short ac-
count of the year's work; and an out-
line -of the work for the ensuing
year. Mrs.'R. T. Phillips gave a
Splendid report 'of the London con-
vention, after which Mr. McMillan,
government speaker, , addressed a
joint meeting of the W.onien's Insti-
tute and the Board -of Agriculture.
The d:strict officers were elected as
follows: President, Mrs. Lowry, -Bel-
more; Secretary, Miss Edna Wahn,
Walkerton`; -delegate to conventiine
Mrs. 'Wetcher, Walkerton. A social

Obituary—Death has claimed an-

the person of Ilenry Culbert. He
was born in the county of Tipperary,
Ireland,•• in 1837, and when only a
child• came to Canada' with -his moth_
e)•' and father and lived on the 2nd.
Con. of 13idulph, Middlesex County,
• for twenty-three years.' ile then
came to Huron Todvnship as a pion-
eer in 1862 and there met his wife,
'Margaret Wall. Together they work-
ed and made a hone acid raised their
little family. There they lived until
fourteen years ago, when they retir-
ed and went to Ripley where they
enjoyed eleven happy years in their

took his wife to be with those above
