Regardless of the chilly
weather, 40 walkers, runners
and bikers made it out to the
annual Terry Fox run at the
Seaforth and District Com-
munity Centre on Sept. 14.
The walk had less partici-
pants this year, but still man-
aged to raise $1,593 for the
cause.
According the the organi-
zation's website, the Terry
Fox Foundation is responsi-
ble for supporting close to
$20 million in discovery
based research each year in
Canada. The Terry Fox
Research Institute (TFRI)
brings scientists and clini-
cians together across the
country into a functionally
integrated, geographically
dispersed institute with
nodes in several provinces.
To date, over $650 million
has been raised worldwide for
cancer research in Terry's
name through the annual
Terry Fox Run, held across
Canada and around the world.
