Halloween on ice
Photo's by Whitney South, Huron Expositor
The Seaforth Optimist Club hosted
their annual Halloween Skating Party
on Oct. 26 at the Seaforth arena. The
event drew a large crowd this year,
with kids dressing as everything from
witches and ghosts to pirates and
monsters. Prizes were awarded for
best dressed and treats were given out
to everyone who participated.

Huron County Junior Farmers to go `Trick or Canning'
For the Expositor
The Huron County Junior Farm-
ers will be stopping at homes in the
Huron East area this Halloween!
Each year, all clubs belonging to
the Junior Farmers Association of
Ontario must complete tasks and
activities for their affiliation
requirements - Huron's favorite
being Community Betterment.
Members of the Huron club col-
lected canned goods and non-per-
ishable food items for the Seaforth
Food Bank in 2012 resulting in a

huge success. This year, Huron
County Junior Farmers are hoping
to make it even bigger! This Hal-
loween, Huron County Junior
Farmer members will be "Trick or
Canning': This means that club
members will be coming door-to-
door in costumes, introducing
themselves and collecting cans,
non-perishable food items and
donations on your behalf to the
local food bank.

Huron County has a rich his-
tory with Junior Farmers. The
first club in Huron County dates
back to 1920, which was located
in Exeter. The Huron County
club is a part of the Junior Farm-
ers Association of Ontario
(JFAO) which provides opportu-
nities for young people age
15-29 of all backgrounds, but
especially those in rural
Ontario. Members take on the
challenge of exploring their
individual talents and potential
to develop personally while
being involved in bettering their
communities, networking and
having fun. JFAO's missioin is
"To build future rural leaders
through self-help and commu-
nity betterment."
