Year after year, Nov. 11 is a day of remembrance when Canadians observe a moment of silence to honour and remember the men and women who have
served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. More than 1,500,000 Canadians have served throughout Canada's history.
Many other countries, such as the United Kingdom and Australia, also observe the tradition on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
Here, wreaths are placed at the Seaforth cenotaph in preparation for the Legion's annual service.
