Obituaries Obituaries BENNETT, Ron - At Seaforth Community Hospital, Ronald Rae Bennett passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the age of 88. Survived by his "Wee Bride" of 65 years, Paulene Bennett (Merkley) of Seaforth. Loving dad and father-in-law of Gary and Dianne Bennett of Seaforth and Joan and Art McNaughton of Egmondville. Proud grandpa and great -grandpa of Tracey and Steven Eckert, Kelsey, Kassidy, Karissa and Tyler of Egmondville, Scott and Sherri McNaughton and Leah of Hamilton, and Kevin and Leanne McNaughton and Harper of London. Also survived by his brother and sisters-in-law Reta Merkley, Harley and Barb Merkley, Anna Merkley, George and Phyllis Merkley, Sharon and Jim Adams, and several nieces and nephews. Ron will also be fondly remembered by Dianne's family. Predeceased by his parents Ken and Ilene Bennett, step -mother Pat Bennett, infant brother Kenneth, sister Shirley Walters, brothers-in-law Bruce Walters, Ernie Merkley, Elmer Merkley, and father and mother-in-law Bill and Marie Merkley. Visitation was held at MCGLYNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 519-527-1390, on Sunday, December 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and a funeral service to celebrate Ron's life was held in the funeral home on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11 a.m. Pastor Mary Fletcher officiated and a reception immediately followed the service in the Northside United Church Hall. Cremation also followed and interment of Ron's urn will take place at Maitland Bank Cemetery in the spring. The Pallbearers were Scott and Kevin McNaughton, Steve and Tyler Eckert, Jack Mc['wain, Bill Hughes; and the Flower Bearers were Tracey, Kelsey, Kassidy and Karissa Eckert and Sherri and Leanne McNaughton.
