holiday cheer this year as residents
participated in a Christmas home
decorating competition. Winners
included alarge group ofhomeown-
ers who were eager to show off their
best displays of seasonal decor.
Lawns and backyards could be
seen covered in everything from
sparkling lights and reindeer to
blow-up Santas and snowmen.
"The residents of the Village of
Vanastra have demonstrated a tre-
mendous 'pride of place,' evident in
the wonderful holiday decorations
on display throughout their com-
munity" said Huron East economic
development officer, Jan Hawley.
"They are indeed wonderful
ambassadors for the Municipality
of Huron East and I look forward to
working with them in the coming
year as we strive to put Vanastra on
the map:'

mond Chartrand was also in the
neighbourhood Dec. 18, handing
out prizes and congratulations.

celebrate the season,"
