Hosted by CKNX Radio's Buzz Reynolds, the evening began with a roast beef din- ner followed by the compe- tition, which saw six cadets team up with dancers from Dance Techniques of Clinton. Teams performed every- thing from hip hop to contemporary routines, and even a little swing. After the contestants fin- ished their routines, the audience was asked to vote along with the judging panel with the top three teams advancing to the sec- ond and final round.
