have done some fighting 'to roll up it

day, Hon. Richard Bedford Bennett

His' home is' in Calgary, Alberta, but

comes of U. E. Loyalist stoek. He is
the eldest son of HenrYJ. Bennett,
.nd his 'Wife Henrietta Stiles. After

schools he attended, and graddated
from Dalhousie.,°14iiVerSity, Halifax.
He took up law, and. at the age Of 23
he was admitted to the,Bar of New
Brunswick, and: commenced practice

He early took to public life,1 and
became a member of the town and
municipal councils of Northumberland
,in 1896. He moved -to Calgary in 1897,
and became 'a member of the Legis-
lative Assembly ,of the North West
