OUR FIRST VISITOR
While we were eating dinner,
WO' heard an, avifel shriek,
Some of the girkere....soLfrighten
rhey could hardly speak.
We all jumped up and looked around
And what do you think we saw,
A. great big snake upon the ground
Which filled us all with awe:
Some said why it. is dead,
Because it is covered with sand, •'
Isobel touched it with a stick,
It niggled something grand.
•Then it lay still and someone said,
Oh come away from 'bere,
But othere thought about the \light,
Our tents are very near. •
Then we all decided
re/mid be a dreadful plight, •
To find tliis snake upon An- bed.
In the middle of the night. .
Then ,someone pretended to be (lair •
•brave,
And picked it tile by it. --s• tail,
And anaiky wiggled very hard,
While all the guides did wail
• We ran it oir our Miming ground,
And threw it in a treP,
•There may it stay &Jmany a day,
And we will happy be • -
