The Council of the Corporation of the County of Huron intends to consider passing a By-law that changes the term of Warden of Huron County to one year. A Public Meeting shall be held at 9:00 a.m. on the 30th of December, 2013 in the Court House Council Chambers, 1 Courthouse Square, Goderich, Ontario. The purpose of the Public Meeting is for Council to consider changing the term of Warden of Huron County to one year. Susan Cronin, County Clerk, The Corporation of the County of Huron, 1 Courthouse Square, Goderich, ON N7A 1M2 FedDev Ontario introduces $200 million advanced manufacturing grant program Ontario's manufacturers will soon benefit from Government of Canada support aimed at increasing competitiveness, investing in inno- vation and boosting productivity thanks to the new Advanced Manufacturing Fund (AMF) in Ontario. Manufacturers in Ontario will now be able to apply for federal funding which will encourage the development of transformative products and technologies. The program was officially launched Dec. 9 in London by Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev), Gary Goodyear. Ontario is home to skilled workers, world - leading companies and innovative manufac- turers, however its manufacturing backbone has taken repeated hits since the 2008 reces- sion began. Despite challenges, the manufac- turing sector's contribution to the economy continues to be a key driver of economic pros- perity, amid intensifying competitive pressures. "Through the Advanced Manufacturing Fund, our Government is looking ahead to the new and innovative products or production methods that will push Ontario to the forefront of high-tech manufacturing," said Goodyear. "With this investment, we are helping manu- facturers in the province to build momentum and push to be more competitive on the global stage." The Government of Canada's Economic Action Plan 2013 provides $200 million over five years for the Advanced Manufacturing Fund in Ontario, to be delivered province -wide by FedDev Ontario. "AMF is one of the integral ways our Govern- ment will help our workers, businesses and other organizations here in Ontario as they strive to grow and prosper," said Ben Lobb, Huron Bruce MP. "By investing in innovative and productive manufacturing companies, we are helping them to achieve and maintain glo- bal leadership, while providing good quality jobs in Ontario now and for the future." Ontario's advanced manufacturing sector by supporting large-scale, transformative manu- facturing activities. Advanced manufacturing includes the devel- opment and/or adoption of cutting-edge tech- nologies that demonstrate a commitment to product, process, and technological innovation. The contributions provided will normally be between $10 million and $20 million per project for up to one-half (50 percent) of total eligible project costs. Projects seeking less than $10 million or more than $20 million may be considered. Applicants must provide evidence of industry support (non-government sources) for at least 50 percent of the remaining project costs and clearly demonstrate how their project responds to innovation, market relevance and spillover economic benefits.
