On September 22, 2014 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron County EMS and Brussels Fire Department responded to the collision scene located just east of Bluevale on Amberley Road. Emer- gency responders located an injured male pedestrian lying on the roadway. He was transported to hospital by air ambu- lance and as a result of his injuries he died in hospital the next day. An OPP investigation into the collision has determined the victim was walking westbound on Amberley Road when he was struck by a westbound 2009 International 4400 deliv- ery truck. The driver of the delivery truck failed to stop at the scene of the accident and failed to render assistance to the injured pedestrian. Police identified the involved vehicle and driver and have since charged the driver. A male 55 years of age from Gorrie has been charged with Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident contrary to section 252 of the Criminal Code. He has a court date scheduled for November 20, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice — Wing - ham. Investigators from the Huron, Perth and Wellington County Crime Units, Mount Forest Forensic Identification Services (F.I.S) and the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team assisted in the investigation. SOUTH HURON — Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently investigating the theft of a of a red 2010 Pontiac Vibe stolen from Main Street South in Exe- ter. The owner reported he parked his four door hatchback in the alley behind Main Street around 6:00 p.m. on October 29, 2014. The next morning at 7:00 a.m. he discovered the vehi- cle had been stolen. BLUEWATER — At approximately 9:00 p.m. on November 1, 2014 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped the driver of a Chevrolet Blazer that was travelling on Mill Road near Wildwood Line. Upon speaking with the driver police noted the male had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was com- pleted and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and subsequently transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit. As a result, a 40 year old male from Huron East been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle — Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice — Goderich on December 15, 2014.
