The Bayfield Farmers' Market officially underway
Mayor Bill Dowson cut the ribbon to officially
open the Bayfield Farmers' Market. The Market
hours are Fridays from 3 to 7 pm through to
October 10th.
Strawberry shortcake and lemonade was
served by Joan Brady to mark the occasion. The
strawberries were purchased from the Bayfield
Berry Farm, the scones were baked fresh by Joan
Brady and the whipped cream was generously
donated by the Bayfield Foodland. The straw-
berry lemonade was made by Joan Brady.
Officiating at the ribbon cutting were Mayor
Bill Dowson assisted by Councillor Geordie
Palmer (on the Mayor's right) and Councillor
Tyler Hesse' (on the Mayor's left). The ribbon
was held by Joan Brady, Market Manager and
Brian Wiley of Firmly Rooted Farm. All three
members of Council also helped to clean the
berries.
All the funds raised from the sale of the straw-
berry shortcake and the strawberry lemonade
will help the Market to purchase road signs to
advertise the Market.
