Clinton News Record, 2014-12-24, Page 13Wednesday, December 24, 2014 • News Record 13 Christmas writings by grade 2 students at Huron Christian School Karin: Christmas is special because Jesus was born in a stable and that there was a big star that would lead the wise men to the sta- ble. And the wise men had frankin- cense, myrrh, and gold and that there were angels of the Lord, who appeared to the shepherds out in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks at night. And the shepherds were terrified, but the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. In the town of Bethlehem, a Saviour has been born to you. And he is Christ alone. And he is the Son of God. And you will find him wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Thomas: What makes Christmas so special: The presents, the giving, the getting, the beauty, the loving, and the presents. The cross repre- sents Jesus dying and why I'm talking about it is because Jesus died on it when he grew up. The manger is where Jesus was born. He was born not that long after they got to the sta- ble. Christmas is special because Jesus was born. And all these things are special because if Jesus didn't come, we wouldn't be anywhere. Elise: Christmas is special because Jesus was born. God talked to the wisemen in a dream and said go back to your hometown a different way. Herod wants to kill the newbom King. If Jesus wasn't born, we would just be sinful. When Jesus was born, He did not cry. Jesus was perfect. He did not sin. Another thing is we don't like everybody. We hate at least one person. Jesus likes everybody. Jesus was bom in a stable. Most babies are born in a crib, but he was bom where animals eat out of. He's different from most people. Emily: Christmas is special because God send His son Jesus to earth to die for us. Born in a stable, not in an inn because there was no room; they were all full. And he gave us JOY, LOVE, and PEACE, so we should be thankful. Eli: Christmas is so special because there is a story upon it. God sent an angel named Gabriel. Gabriel went to Mary. Mary was afraid, but the angel said, Do not be afraid. I bring you Good News. You are going to have a baby and you shall name him Jesus. And when Jesus grew up, he died upon a cross and went into a grave, and on the third day, he rose again and con- quered sin and that is what Christ- mas is all about. Kennedy: Christmas is special because God sent his Son in a stable to save our sins. The wisemen went to Christ Jesus in the stable. They gave gifts to Jesus. He is the King of Kings. He is not a normal person, he is Christ the King. Caitlin: Christmas is so special because my family gets to spend time together and Jesus was born and died on the cross to save the world. Jesus gave us joy. Kate: Christmas is special because Jesus is born in a stable and usually babies aren't like that. They are usu- ally born in a hospital or at their house. Angels are singing with praise to God and Jesus because Jesus is born. Also, we can spend time with family having Christmas parties and to celebrate that Jesus is born. Asher: Christmas is special to me because there were angels praising God behind the stable, and that Jesus was not born in a kingdom, but in a manger. If you were born in a man- ger and you were a normal person, you wouldn't have any worth. You would just be a normal baby. Jesus is the King of Kings, not a worthless baby. William: Christmas is special because Jesus was born for us and died on the cross for our sins. If we didn't have Christmas, we wouldn't have Jesus and he saved us. We can celebrate that he came for us and he always forgives us. Wes: Christmas is special for us because it reminds us about Jesus dying on the cross and coming as a baby in a stable instead of a big pal- ace. He's not a fancy king that likes everything -gold and makes people pay everyday -He's a King filled with joy. He kept his promises and He still keeps them. He doesn't trickus. Aaron: Christmas is special because Jesus was born and died on the cross and gave us love and joy and peace and kindness for our hearts. He gives us presents, and God gave us his present Jesus, and if He didn't give us Jesus, people wouldn't know about Him and heaven. Shepherds were greeted by angels singing Oh, ow they were terrified, By the end of the song their ears were ringing Glory to God in the highest they were not terrified Wise men saw a star, So they started packing.
