Clinton News Record, 2014-08-20, Page 88 News Record • Wednesday, August 20, 2014 Registration deadline looms for 48 -Hour Amazing Race Central Huron Teams are racing to get their registra- tions in for the second annual 48 -Hour Amazing Race Central Huron, a test of brains, brawn and stomach in this race that mimics the highly successful CBS Amazing Race television program. A total of 96 competitors will need to raise $100 each for United Way Perth Huron before even joining the starting line in this race organized by the Municipality of Central Huron and the Central Huron and Area Business Improvement Area for Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27. Over two days, they will go head to head in eight wacky and exhilarating events staged at loca- tions around the picturesque Cen- tral Huron landscape. There will be a group dinner on Friday night and a celebration for all participants, volunteers, families and friends at the Club Huron Fish & Game in Clinton on Saturday night. "Organizers are sworn to secrecy about the nature of the challenges, and I'll only say that they promise to be even more fun for competitors than last year," said Genny Smith, Race Director. 'This event really does have it all: It highlights all that Central Huron's busi- nesses and community has to offer, it's a blast for teams of best friends and family, and it raises money for a cause that does so much good across this community." For the second year, the United Way Perth Huron will receive funds to help improve lives and build strong local communities. Registration is limited to just 24 teams of four, with participants required to be 16 years or older.
