Registration deadline looms for
48 -Hour Amazing Race Central Huron
Teams are racing to get their registra-
tions in for the second annual 48 -Hour
Amazing Race Central Huron, a test of
brains, brawn and stomach in this race
that mimics the highly successful CBS
Amazing Race television program.
A total of 96 competitors will need
to raise $100 each for United Way
Perth Huron before even joining the
starting line in this race organized
by the Municipality of Central
Huron and the Central Huron and
Area Business Improvement Area
for Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday,
Sept. 27. Over two days, they will go
head to head in eight wacky and
exhilarating events staged at loca-
tions around the picturesque Cen-
tral Huron landscape. There will be
a group dinner on Friday night and
a celebration for all participants,
volunteers, families and friends at
the Club Huron Fish & Game in
Clinton on Saturday night.
"Organizers are sworn to secrecy
about the nature of the challenges, and
I'll only say that they promise to be
even more fun for competitors than last
year," said Genny Smith, Race Director.
'This event really does have it all: It
highlights all that Central Huron's busi-
nesses and community has to offer, it's
a blast for teams of best friends and
family, and it raises money for a cause
that does so much good across this
community."
For the second year, the United Way
Perth Huron will receive funds to help
improve lives and build strong local
communities.
Registration is limited to just 24
teams of four, with participants
required to be 16 years or older. Regis-
tration deadline is Aug. 31 at 5 p.m.
