THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2017. Council approves four tiny houses for CCRC site Continued from page 31 emergency services to respond when necessary. While he recognized the extra parking, he said people will still park as close as possible, even in places that aren't allowed. Fire Chief Ryan Ladner said he would look over the site plan that precedes any construction on the site. The addition of accommodation also concerned Knott, who said it could have an impact on the upcoming accommodation review being conducted in the village, however several councillors said that the kind of accommodation suggested, a place for artists at the Blyth Festival or instructors at the CCRC to stay over long periods, wasn't the thrust of the review. Knott was also concerned about the letter that was sent to residents near the school, saying that it didn't explain how "substantial" a reduction the change to parking was. Young said the letter explained the reduction in parking, but Knott said people needed to be aware it was a reduction of "nearly half' of the required spots. Seip agreed with some of Knott's points, but said that all the problems brought up can be dealt with through a proper site plan. Young agreed, saying alternatives could be researched and discovered for all the issues raised. She said North Huron could also draft an agreement that would include specific requirements to be met before allowing development to go forward. North Huron Council approved the recommendation of the planning department to allow the inclusion of the four detached dwellings at the Blyth CCRC site and the reduced parking signs.
