Building fee structure meeting coming
A public meeting will be held next
month for input on the future of
building fees and associated charges
in Morris-Turnberry.
Chief Building Official (CBO)
Kirk Livingston presented a new
proposed fee structure based on
Morris-Turnberry's existing charges
as well as numbers from
neighbouring municipalities.
He suggested increasing base fees
in building permits by $5 each,
which, if the same number of
permits are issued this year as were
issued last year, will increase the
funds brought in by the department
to $500 to $600.
Other charges are also increased
as Livingston said that the
department should aim to be user -
fee -funded and run at no cost to
taxpayers.
Livingston, who, through a shared
services initiative, is CBO for North
