From OFSAA West Regionals, the top four in each event qualify for OFSAA to be held in Belleville. Madill had also co -hosted an invitational track and field meet at St. Anne's last week. Attended by 23 schools, the athletes battled heavy rain and frigid temperatures throughout the day. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, Madill athletes rose to the challenge achieving 16 personal best performances and 58 top six finishes. Jacklin heaved the shot a remarkable 16.10 metres to miss the school record set by Charlie Meiers in the early 1980s by just one centimetre. The Grade 7 and 8 contingent of Madill athletes joined the high school athletes and competed against their peers from other schools. They too collected several top finishes.
