funeral took place on the 12th, a large
concourse of friends . following the
reuraina to the Lucknow cemetery.

bers Of Old Light Masonic Lodge in

raising a candidate in the third degree
was ably exemplified by the_onicers of
Old Light, and on conclusion of the
degree, all tho visitors expressed them-
selves delighted with tho manner in

Dungannon Show -
Thera was a big crowd at the Dun-
gannon show on Wednesday last, and
in every department tho show was a
success. The track owing to the rain
was a trifle heavy but the races were,
good, and in the free for all "Grace
M.,"owned by Mr. P. McDavitt, of
this village, captured Jirst money,
while in the farmer's trot, Mr. .Jake
Reed, of Ashfield, took first place. In
a tug of war between eight men a side
from Ashfield and West Wawanosb,
captained by Hugh Girvin and John
Bowers, respectively., the Ashfield
men. won the :draw.' In buggy horses
Mr.. M. Corrigan captured the red
.tic,ket, 024 in the drawing contest Mr.
jittnes Forster's 'team was victorious.

brought .• to he Sentinel office, on
Friday last, et ht of the largest cobs
of corn we ha% e ever seen. The cobs
measered abot t a foot in length and
had circurnb dice of nine andlalf
inches. The 1 rgest one _contained 32
rowe„of corn hich had on it 1650
grains, and weighed • about two
pounds.

Mr J. J: CI rk, editor and propri-
etor of the Tiv rton Watchman, died
at his residen in that • village, on
Friday last, aa his remains were in
terred on Sund y af lernoon. 'last with
Masonic honor. Mr. Clark was a
clever young j urnalist and a gentle-
man greatly res' pected by- all who
knew him, and in his death the village
of Tiverton and the county generally
has lost a good citizen. ••
