Dinner planned for Dec. 21 Members of a planning committee for the Wing - ham's and area first Christ- mas Dinner are busy organ- izing for the upcoming community event. The dinner will be held Sat. Dec. 21, 2013 from 12-3 p.m. at the Columbus Center in Wingham. Tickets will be distributed through the Salvation Army and North Huron Food Share. The cheque was presented by Mitch Twolan, the mayor of Huron -Kinloss, to Andy Swan, executive director on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013 at the new Community Living building. The donation is part of an ongoing commitment by the township. Dungannon News and happenings reported Shag Campbell Dungannon News Busy seniors. Irene Markham and Reita Harris, from the Dungannon Seniors attended the U.S.C.O. Zone 3, Fall Rally at Grand Bend on Oct. 17, along with eight other clubs. After "0 Canada" and a minute of silence for departed members, we had a welcome from our Zone President, Irene Markham, host club, Grand Bend and various other dignitaries. Irene and her sister, Shirley Pole, of Grand Bend, attended the U.S.C.O. annual convention in St. Catharines in August, so she gave a report on the convention. This is where all the Clubs send in resolutions pertaining to conditions affecting seniors. These resolutions are voted on and sent on to the Ontario and Federal governments to consider. It was noted that the Spring Rally will be hosted by the Exeter Club. The meeting ended with "God Save the Queen" and the seniors prayer. The winner of the Wednesday afternoon weekly euchre at the Senior's Hall at 1:30 p.m. wasd George Errington. Tea and cookies were enjoyed afterwards. Thursday coffee break had 14 in attendance. Everyone is invited to join in these events. Many thanks to Irene for submitting the above news. The Dungannon Ag. Hall was a busy place on Saturday, Oct. 26. There was the Children's Great Fall Harvest Games from 1-4 p.m. with pumpkin carving, scavenger hunt, tug of war, crafts and more. A potluck community Harvest Feast, hosted by the Dun- gannon Trinity Church. Desserts were made with either apples or pumpkin. Evening found the Ag.
