Lucknow Fair Results 4-H Beef Achievement Day • Valerie Gillies/Lucknow Sentinel Lillian Abbott, representative of Huron -Kinloss Township, and Mark Hackett, Lucknow Recreation, are pleased with the gift of the Lucknow and District Splash Pad from the many groups who came together to make this project happen. The sign arrived in time for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony which took place September 22, 2014. get www.Iucknowsentinel.com Valerie Gillies Editor, Lucknow Sentinel The ribbon -cutting cere- mony for the Lucknow Splash Pad took place on September 22, 2014. Past President of the Luc - know Lions, Brian Wolfe, led the presentation speeches by commending the many groups who were involved in the project for working together for com- pletion. Several representa- tives of the various groups were present and were asked to speak, as well. The new splash pad is fully accessible. It was noted that the committee had asked for a $60,000 Trillium Grant and were pleased that they received the full amount requested toward the project. The pad was opened for use in mid June until mid September and was quite busy over the summer. Wolfe gave a special mention to two local busi- nesses who went above and beyond in their technical skills, for supplying cement and financial help. These are Cliff's Plumbing and Porter Cement. The following groups and their representatives were integral to the makeup of the Lucknow and District Splash Pad Committee: Lucknow Legion, Ken Fis- cher; Lucknow Kinnettes, Helena Jacobsen; Lucknow Kinsmen, Steve Neeb; Luc - know Lions, Brian Wolfe; Lucknow Arena and Recre- ation Committee, Mark Hackett. There were also two working committees: chairperson of the Building Committee, Ambrose Red- mond; chairperson of the Fundraising Committee, Barry Johnson; Community Representative for the Tril- lium Foundation, Bertha Scott.
