Forget the country band stereotypes: The best way to describe a River Junction Band performance, is pro- gressive, aggressive, rockin' country at its best. Boasting solid four part male and female harmonies, and drawing on influences as diverse as Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, AC/DC & The Rolling Stones. The result is country music with a defi- nite edge. Coming off their win for "Country Group of the Year" at the LMA, and Nomination for "Country Group of the Year" at the CMAO's... the band contin- ues to be in demand to bring its high-energy show to appreciative audiences and a growing fan base. They do this by maintaining a very busy performing schedule in the club and festival circuit. RJB was the "House Band" for the 4th year! At Music In the Fields In Lucknow Ont. Aug. 23 & 24th, 2013!! With its busy schedule, it's wondered how the band found time to record a debut EP at EMAC Recording stu- dios in London Ontario. The effort was produced by Rob- ert Nation, and it garnered airplay at numerous stations in Canada and the United States. On -air interviews fol- lowed, and the EP sold briskly at RJB shows and on 1 -Tunes. RIB is getting ready to release their new single near the end of July. The band has just finished their very first music video recorded and produced by Replay Media in Toronto Ontario. The River Junction Band is honoured in being perenni- ally nominated, and winning in 2008, and 2013 the award for "Country Group of the Year" at the London Music Awards. Nominated at the first ever CMAO Awards for "Group or Duo of the Year". They were also finalists in the "Best Live" category, and won, "Best Country" act at the 2010 Toronto Independent Music Awards. Howick Bloomers Visit Botanical Gardens Former Lucknow Resident Sparks Interest A former resident of Luc - know has been sharing updates from the Lucknow Sentinel of the area and of the Bruce Botanical Food Gardens with fellow mem- bers of the Howick Bloom- ers. These reports resulted in the group deciding to visit the gardens for a tour on Monday, June 12, 2014.
