Free outdoor movie Crokinole News
night in Wingham
Huron County Health Unit
Families are invited to a free out-
door movie night at the Wingham
Splash Pad on Saturday, August 2,
2014.
The Huron County Health Unit, in
partnership with Wingham Home-
coming 2014, will present "The
LEGO Movie" as part of a tobacco -
free event at the William Street
splash pad in Wingham. Activities
promoting tobacco -free living,
including button making and a
trivia wheel, begin at 8:30 p.m. The
movie begins at approximately 9
p.m. Please bring lawn chairs and
blankets to sit on.
This tobacco -free, family-oriented
event brings attention to the role of
media messaging and tobacco use.
"Most movies with smoking are
rated for kids and teens," says Public
Health Promoter Samantha
Docherty. "These movies can have a
big influence on kids to start smok-
ing and this helps the tobacco
industry recruit a new generation of
customers."
The Wingham Scouts will sell
refreshments at the event and youth
volunteers will gather public sup-
port to address smoking in movies
rated for children and youth.
The free movie will take place rain
or shine. The ram location is the Mait-
land River Community Church on 414
Josephine Street in Wingham.

Expanding Bus Tours Due
to High Demand
Bruce Power
The return of summer bus
tours to the Bruce Power site has
been a huge success.
Due to high demand and lim-
ited seating on the buses, Bruce
Power is adding two more tours
per week for the month of
August. Tours will be available at
1 and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays next
month.
"Being the world's largest
operating nuclear site and the
area's largest employer means
there is a lot of public curiosity
about Bruce Power," said James
Scongack, Vice President, Cor-
porate Affairs. "The public inter-
est in the tours has exceeded our
expectations, and we're happy
to educate even more people
about our site this summer."
The one-hour tours, which
leave from the Visitors' Centre
on Bruce Rd. 20 (Conc. 4),
include a view of Douglas
Point, Canada's first commer-
cial -sized nuclear plant, a
drive past the multi -unit Bruce
A and Bruce B nuclear stations,
which generate about a third of
Ontario's electricity, and a
number of extensive security
elements that protect both
stations.
It's recommended you pre -
register for a tour by calling the
Bruce Power Visitors' Centre at
519-361-7777 or emailing info@
brucepower.com, though walk-
ons are welcome if space is
available. You must bring offi-
cial, government -issued photo
identification, for example a
driver's license or passport, to
ensure security clearance before
boarding the bus. Children
without photo identification can
