SUSPENDED DRIVER
STOPPED FOR SPEEDING
Huron County Ontario Provincial
Police has charged a 48 year old
male with Speeding and Driving
While Under Suspension following
a traffic stop on July 9 2014. At
3:47 p.m. a Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP) officer
observed a GMC Sierra pickup
truck travelling westbound on Bel -
grave Road near Currie Line at
a high rate of speed. The officer
confirmed the speed of the vehi-
cle. The driver was travelling at 89
km/h in the 60 km/h speed limit.
The officer conducted a driver's
licence query and determined the
driver had a suspended licence. As
a result a 48 year old male from
Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has
been charged with Speeding and
Drive While Under Suspension.He
has a court appearance sched-
uled for Provincial Offences Court
— Goderich on August 19, 2014.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO
DRUG POSSESSION CHARGE
A 17 year old female is facing a
drug possession charge follow-
ing a traffic stop on July 9, 2014.A
few minutes after midnight on July
9, 2014 a Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police officer observed a
Buick sedan cross the center line
on Bluewater Veterans Highway
several times. The officer stopped
the driver on Bluewater Veterans
Highway at Union Road and upon
speaking with the female driver he
observed a quantity of marihuana
inside the vehicle. The female
driver was placed under arrest for
Possession of a Controlled Drug
& Substance and a search of the
vehicle incident to arrest led to
the seizure of a quantity of mari-
huana. As a result, a 17 year old
female from Ashfield-Colborne-
Wawanosh has been charged with
Possession of a Schedule II Sub-
stance — Marihuana contrary to
the Controlled Drugs & Substances
Act. She has a court appear-
ance scheduled for Youth Court
at the Ontario Court of Justice —
Goderich on August 11, 2014.
DISQUALIFIED DRIVING &
SPEEDING CHARGES LAID
Huron County Ontario Provincial
Police has charged a 31 year old
male with Speeding and Driv-
ing While Disqualified following a
traffic stop on July 16, 2014. Just
before 9:00 a.m. a Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
officer observed a white Chevro-
let Explorer Van travelling south-
bound on Donnybrook Line at a
high rate of speed. The officer
confirmed the speed of the vehi-
cle at 112 km/h in a posted 90
km/h zone. After speaking with
the driver a driver's licence query
was completed and it revealed the
driver was prohibited from driv-
ing. As a result a 31 year old from
Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh
has been charged with Speed-
ing and Drive While Disqualified.
He has a court appearance sched-
uled for Ontario Court of Justice —
Goderich on August 25, 2014. The
motor vehicle was also impounded
for a mandatory 45 days.
SUSPENDED DRIVER FOUND
POSSESSING DRUGS
A 29 year old from Ashfield-
Colborne-Wawanosh is facing
charges of Drive Under Suspen-
sion and Possession of a Con-
trolled Substance following a traf-
fic stop on June 25, 2014. Shortly
before 10:00 a.m. a Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police officer
stopped a Ford F-150 that was
travelling eastbound on Huron
Road near Holmesville. Upon stop-
ping the male driver he was una-
ble to produce a driver's licence.
A subsequent check on the sta-
tus of his licence revealed he was
currently suspended from driv-
ing. He was placed under arrest
and a search incident to arrest
revealed the driver to be in pos-
session of marihuana. As a result
a 29 year old male from Ash-
field-Colborne-Wawanosh has
been charged with Driving While
Under Suspension and Posses-
sion of a Schedule II Substance
— (Cannabis Marihuana). His
motor vehicle was towed from
the scene and he was provided
with an appearance notice to
attend the Ontario Court of Jus-
tice — Goderich on July 21, 2014.
FEMALE AIRLIFTED TO HOS-
PITAL WITH LIFE THREAT-
ENING INJURIES
Huron County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) along with inves-
tigators from the West Region
OPP Technical Traffic Collision
Investigation (TTCI) team con-
tinue to investigate a fatal colli-
sion that took place on July 14,
2014. At approximately 3:00 p.m.
the driver of a Ford Escape was
travelling westbound on Dash-
wood Road when she crossed
the center line and collided with
an eastbound dump truck and
camper trailer. The driver of the
Ford Escape, Catherine BURDETT,
age 65, from South Huron died in
hospital on July 17, 2014. A post
mortem examination is sched-
uled to be completed on July 18,
2014. Investigators would like to
speak with anyone that may have
information regarding this colli-
sion or the events leading up to
it. Huron OPP can be contacted

FIREARMS STOLEN DUR-
ING BREAK IN
On July 17, 2014 the South Bruce
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
received a report of a break in at
a residence in the 300 block of
Grey Ox Avenue in Kinloss Town-
ship. Sometime between 10:00
am and 11:30 pm on July 17,
2014, the home and detached
garaged were forcibly entered.
The list of stolen property includes:
long guns, hand guns, ammu-
nition, power tools including a
Husqvarna chain saw and a Poulin
chain saw, 40" Sony LCD TV, 32"
RCA LCD TV, a number of Blue -Ray
DVD's Serial numbers are on file
with police. An estimate on the
value of the stolen property is not
available at this time. OPP Foren-
sic Identification Unit is assist-
ing the South Bruce OPP with this
investigation. Suspicious vehicles
and suspicious people need to be
reported to police immediately
so that officers can investigate.

COMPLIANCE AUDIT COMMITTEE
According to Section 81(1) of the Municipal Elections Act, a council or local board
shall, before October 1 of an election year, establish a committee for the purposes
of compliance audit.
Compliance Audit Committee members must possess an in-depth knowledge of the
campaign finance rules of the Municipal Elections Act. Prior experience on a
committee, task force or tribunal would be an asset.
Committee per diems and normal expenses will be paid by the municipality where a
Compliance Audit Application has been received.
The term of the Compliance Audit Committee will be for the term of Council; being
December 1, 2014 until November 30, 2018.
