For the Benmiller Inn, it has been 40 years since Peter and Joanne Ivey first recognized their vision of converting an old woolen mill into a beautiful inn. It took two years of reno- vations to convert the 1877 limestone mill into a wel- coming hotel for guests. Over the next few decades the inn would continue to grow, adding a pool and several buildings: the River - mill Building, Mill House, Gledhill House and Sharpe's Retreat. On August 21, 2011 the Benmiller Inn & Spa was damaged in the F3 tornado that swept through Goder- ich. Undeterred, the inn renovated, repaired and upgraded its buildings. Over the last four decades the Benmiller Inn and Spa has amassed an impressive array of awards, including receiving the CAA Four Dia- mond award for accommo- dations 18 years in a row and the CAA Four Diamond award for dining for 10 consecutive years. The inn was also recently recog- nized by the world's largest travel website, receiving the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. To celebrate, the inn is offering special travel pack- ages for July in partnership with the Blyth Festival which is celebrating its 40th season this year. The Blyth Centre for the Arts, including the Blyth Festival, was founded in 1975. The goal for the Festi- val was to produce profes- sional repertory theatre reflecting the culture and concerns of the people of southwestern Ontario and beyond. With few scripts that reflected southwestern Ontario, the Festival began creating their own. For a time, the Festival was the only summer theatre pro- ducing original Canadian plays and one of the very few, if not the only, 500 -seat theatre in Canada produc- ing Canadian plays exclusively. Now the Blyth Centre for the Arts is a vital hub of Canadian culture, support- ing the Blyth Festival Art Gallery, Blyth Festival Orchestra and the Blyth Fes- tival Singers. The slate of plays for the Festival's 40th season include "Kitchen Radio, "Stag and Doe", Billy Bishop Goes to War", "Radio :30", "St. Anne's Reel" and "Out of this World': ±I i',12ad jrjjjy Submitted Photo Lots of interesting creations were constructed at the Kid Zone Lego tables in the Community Centre during Lucknow Strawberry Summerfest.
