Master Chef Wawanosh
Maisy Jefferson
The final meeting of Mas-
ter Chef Wawanosh was held
on Friday June 13th, at the
Auburn Hall. At 7pm, Reba
Jefferson opened the meet-
ing with the pledge, followed
by roll call. Minutes of Meet-
ing 5 were read by Amanda
Morrison and Jolande Oud-
shoorn. Mary Ellen Foran
then discussed dates for the
next club, "Members Night
Out': The first meeting for
this club will be held on June
27th at the Jefferson
household.
Scott Jefferson, Loretta
Higgins, Jill Martin and
Maisy Jefferson then took
turns reading an excerpt
from the book on how food
has changed over the years.
Mary Ellen then divided the
members into their cooking
groups. The meetings theme
was choosing healthy
options while eating out so
the Master Chefs were pre-
paring Chili Beef Burgers
and Chicken Fajitas. Mem-
bers not involved in the main
course cut up vegetables and
toppings for the burgers.
After everything was pre-
pared, members tasted their
creations, washed up all
dishes and headed outside to
play on the playground.
Achievement for this club
was held on Friday June 20th
at 7pm. Members met at
Lake Wawanosh to go canoe-
ing or hiking. Although
canoeing abilities varied,
members were able to tour
around the lake and saw
wildlife including muskrats,
snapping turtles, minnows
and pike. Mary Ellen Foran
and Reba Jefferson provide
Nuts and Bolts and Birdseed
Bars for snack. Marita Oud-
shoorn and Kate Higgins also
provided watermelon and
strawberries for the mem-
bers to eat. All members
enjoyed themselves and
were reminded that their
member books are due on
June 27th.
