The 2nd Annual Swing
Shoot & Liv Golf Classic
hosted by the Saugeen
Shores Winterhawks in
support of the Liv -A -Little
Foundation is taking place
September 20, 2014. As an
added feature to the tour-
nament we are looking to
build a team or multiple
teams to compete in a
sanctionedGuinness World
Record attempt for Fastest
Round of Golf.
How it works
Each golfer is assigned a
specific location on the
course (tee, fairway,
green, etc.) In a "relay"
style, the ball is hit from
the tee to the green as
quickly as possible. When
the golfer on the green
holes out, the golfer on
the next hole tees off.
"Remember that is a timed
event, not scored, said Chad
Little, Liv -A -Little Board
Chair. "You need to com-
plete the hole as fast as
possible:'
As part of this fundraising
event golfers will have the
opportunity to take their
shot at being a part of his-
tory, which could land them
in the Guinness Book of
World Records. All while
raising money and aware-
ness for a good cause.
"We are very excited
that Guinness has
approved our claim, said
Chad Little. "We wanted to
bring a new exciting event
to the tournament." "This
will be a tough challenge
as the current world
record is only 15 minutes
to complete all 18 holes.
We can't wait to see if this
community can pull it off."
Event Details
The event will kick off a 9
a.m. sharp Saturday
September 20, 2014 at the
Saugeen Golf Club in Port
Elgin, Ontario with the clock
starting at 9:45 a.m.
As part of the event golf-
ers will be treated to a com-
plimentary continental
breakfast during the morn-
ing overview, including
rules and hole placement.
Golfers can sign-up as an
individual, group or team.
The group sign-up allows
for a golfers to partner up
and put their stake on a
specific hole.
After the world record
attempt the Swing, Shoot
and Liv Golf Classic will
kick-off with a BBQ lunch
provided by the Wismer
House beginning at noon.
The tournament will com-
mence with a 1 p.m. shot
gun start.

Guinness World Records
attempt or the Swing, Shoot
& Liv Golf Classic contact

What is Cystonosis?
Cystonosis is a rare,
inherited disease charac-
terized by the abnormal
accumulation of the
amino acid cystine. The
build-up of cystine in the
cells eventually destroys
all major organs of the
body. Currently there is no
cure, only a time demand-
ing, around the clock
treatment. This rare meta-
bolic disease afflicts 75
children and young adults
in Canada, and only 2,000
worldwide.
Liv -A -Little Foundation
Mission
Liv -A -Little is commit-
ted to supporting the
advancement of treat-
ments and ultimately a
cure for cystinosis, by
educating, promoting and
funding progress.

The Wingham Golf &
Curling Club enjoyed a
busy couple of weeks
highlighted by two hole in
ones and terrific turnout
for the homecoming golf
tournament.
On Friday, August 1,
2014, the Wingham Golf
Course was privileged to
be part of the fantastic,
well-run homecoming
weekend. The organizers
and all of the volunteers
did a stellar job of putting
all the many events and
activities together for the
entire weekend. The 146
golfers with the help from
the weatherman could not
have asked for a better day
to play golf.
The first flight winners
were repeat champs from
2004. The team of Adam
Skillen, Brendon McGee,
Steve sillcock and Ryan
Deyell took home the first
place trophies. The sec-
ond flight winners were
the Stewart botys, Kurt
and Cole, and the Riley
brothers, Jare and Joel,
who finished with a score
of 59 to post 11 under par.
One of the many high-
lights of the day was Any
Williams' ace on the sev-
enth hole. Andy's four
hybrid shot was perfect
and the goup on the eigth
tee were excited watching
the ball find the hole.
On Thursday, July 31,
the kids hit the links as
part of the homecoming
events. The 25 children
with help from several
volunteers played a nine
hole scramble followed by
burgers and prizes in the
dining lounge. Tim Currie
and Greg Blackwell did a
great job of putting the
golf tournamentrs
together and should be
congratulated for a fantas-
tic job. The maintenance
crew Bruce, Dave, Bob
and Brad had the course
in superbe shape, which
also helped in making the
event successful.
In regular league play, the
Tuesday ladies again had to
wait for the morning rain to
stop before play. Aantje Rob-
inson was winner of the
lungest putt.
On Wednesday, August 5
the senior men had 29 golf-
ers on a cool sunny morning.
Bruce Boyd had a solid
round of 36 to lead the way.
Prize winners were Al Web-
ster followed by Don Taylor
second and Bob Gavrekuk
third. Andy Williams took
home closest to the pin with
Bill Johnston sinking the
longest putt.
The Thursday night men
had 66 golfers enjoy another
great night of golf. Jay
Marston's pitching wedge on
the fifth hole was the high-
light for the night as Jay
picked up his second ace at
the club. Jay also tied Bruce
Boyd and Mike Haggitt for
low rounds of 36 for the
night. The closest to the pin
winners were Matt Harris,
Brian Carr and Jay Marston
(hole in one). The longest
putt winners were Ray
Walker, Derek Gamble, Eric
Deyell and Jamie Chester
with Leighton Lynch, Andy
Williams and Claire Rolph
collecting prizes for hidden
scores.
The Friday night wing
night on August 8 was again
a huge success as the girls
Cheryl, Makayla and Jenny
served up over 1200 tasty
chicken wings.
