Farn Farrel
The April meeting was held at the home of Wilma Sutton.
President Marilyn Reid welcomed everyone. Donna Swann
read the Scripture. Secretary Fran Farrell called the roll with
everyone paying their annual fees. Convener Joyce Farrell
introduced our speaker Steve Hallam. Steve brought in some
'show and tell' honey hives and honey comb. We all enjoyed
the wealth of knowledge about the bees that Steve imparted.
Another of the interesting facts was that the skunkis a natural
preditor. Joyce thanked Steve on behalf of everyone present.
flfl Cheryl Bridge gave the District Director's report. Names
were taken for those wanting to attend the District Annual in
Chepstow in May. Mary Anne Kukoly asked for help for
Meighan Clifford's shower April 26th in the afternoon. The W
I Rocks gathering was discussed briefly and will be reported
on at a later date.
Our Annual Meeting was then held with all of the officers
being returned for their second year It was another success-
ful year.
Marilyn thanked our hostess Wilma and the lunch com-
mittee of Diane Clifford and Wilma. The pies were great!!

RACING CHARGE LAID
A 74 year old driver is facing a court date and a seven day
driver's licence suspension after he was stopped for speeding
on April 11, 2014. Just before 8:30 a.m. a Buick Enclave was
observed speeding westbound on Nile Road west of Mill Line.
A Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer used a
radar device and a high speed was captured at 150 km/h in a
posted an 80 km/h zone.
The driver from London was charged with Race a Motor
Vehicle. He will have to attend Provincial Offences Court at a
later date to answer to the charge. His driver's licence has been
seized for seven days and his vehicle is impounded for seven
days.
IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT
On April 12, 2014 at 2:34 am, a South Bruce Ontario Provin-
cial Police (OPP) officer on patrol checked a vehicle in the Dav-
idson Centre parking lot and found that the driver had been
drinking alcohol. An18 year old of Huron -Kinloss Township
has been charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. He is sched-
uled to appear in court on May 5, 2014 to answer to the charge.
The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information
that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish

222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web -tip to crimestop-gb.org, where
you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Deck Collapses at Benmiller

Easter weekend did not turn out as expected for a family
celebration at the Benmiller Inn & Spa on Benmiller Line.
Just before 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2014 the family
were gathering outside of the restaurant for a family photo on
the deck. There were 16 in the group posing when the north
end of the wooden deck collapsed. Some of the family mem-
bers fell to the ground which was approximately a 10 foot
drop. Five people were taken to local hospitals for treatment
of minor injuries.
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officers, Goderich
Fire Department members and Huron County EMS
responded to the call. The Ontario Ministry of Labour will be
investigating the scene.
