Ferguson's property south of Ripley. Various types of farm equipment, tractors, tools, ATVs, seadoos and more brought
out crowds of farmers from around the area, while auctioneer Dave McCormick sold them off for Ferguson's retirement
from farming.

Purple Grove WI takes part
in Rocks Rally
Fran Farrell
Thanks to Red and Shirley Stanley who organized a Holy -
rood Butcher reunion in Lucknow recently! Some were busy
getting into that old hockey equipment and skates and got a
couple shots on net for old times sake and the rest were just
glad to have a great visit!
This week was the Chesley Agri Fair and organizers were
very happy with the turnout - lots of Ripley folks were there.
On Wednesday, seven ladies from Purple Grove Branch
attended the WI Rocks Rally in Stoney Creek at the Grand
Olympia. A total of 470 WI members from across Ontario -43
from Grey -Bruce enjoyed the speakers - especially Janet
Horner(Whitehead) whose topic was "Both Feet into the
Future': Dinner and socializing with former board members
and Presidents and meeting WI members was most enjoya-
ble. After, our bus stopped at the Erland Lee Home and
Museum where the Women's Institute Charter was signed by
Erland and Janet Lee and Adelaide Hoodless and 117 years
later WI still Rocks!
Sympathy is extended to the family of Hazel Jean McLel-
land formerly of Bervie.
The National Brown Swiss Annual Meeting was hosted in
Kincardine over the weekend. Folks also enjoyed the barn
tour of various herds in the area especially Mike and Cordula
Inauen and the Mc Connell's.
The folks that attended Maria Walsh's presentation on Sun-
day afternoon were pleased to hear about her trip to Thailand
last fall. We have much to learn about other countries and
their cultures. Maria is Ruby and Scott Walsh's
grandaughter.
Sunday afternoon at the Kinlough Presbyterian Church
everyone enjoyed the musical talents of different groups enti-
tled "This is my Song."
Don and Marilyn Reid had supper with Ed and Sandra and
Ryan Husk Sunday evening.
Visiting Sunday with Jim and Fran Farrell were Jamie and
Crystal Farrell and Derk and Lillian Logtenberg.
Reminder ladies of our Annual Meeting Wednesday 7:30
pm at Wilma Sutton's. Guest Speaker is Steve Hallam and the
topic is "Bees!'
