She is happy to share this love with her cli- ents at her business, Lash Envy & Spa at her shop at the back of 19 Albert Street, Clinton. Lash Envy & Spa opened for busi- ness at the beginning of October. Monk and her aunt, Sofia Brindley, owner and operator of Her Majes-Teas Room, share the space and are having fun running their separate busi- nesses while helping each other. Both businesses embody celebrating girls and women of all ages, creating beauty and making others feel good and feel good about themselves. Having grown up near Blyth and Auburn, Monk moved to London to pursue her educa- tion. She learned howto do lash extensions through Xtreme Lash in London. The remainder of her spa education was accomplished through Ele- gance School in London. Monk opened up a spa business in London three years ago at age 19, but missed home so much that she decided to return and has now opened at her new location in Clinton. Lash Envy & Spa offers vari- ous services. Monk has done her research and uses and sells only the best products for her clients. She believes in educat- ing her clients on cleanliness MIIty. Asked how her new busi- ness has been, Monk enthusi- astically replies, "It has been going fabulous! I love it! This is a fun business:' Sitting on the stairway that leads from the front showroom where her aunt's business, Her Majes-Teas Room is situated up to the back room were Lash Envy is located, Monk smiles at Brindley as they say, almost in unison, "We have a lot of fun:' Monk enjoys doing makeup for proms and graduation. She looks forward to doing makeup for those who book the Queens Tea Parties and Princess Parties with her aunt. Expressing her hope that more businesses will come to Clinton to set up shop and to grow as her business has, Monk reports, "Everyone has been super welcoming" Lash Envy & Spa is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. as well as Saturday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Walk-ins are always wel- come. Appointments can be arranged for other times upon request such as on Wednesday mornings. Friday appoint- ments are not available in Clin- ton. On that day, Monk offers her services in a room that she rents at Orchids Designed by Holly in Ripley. Monk states, "It is going fantastic there, as well." POLICE BRIEFS HURON EAST A male wanted for Breach of Probation charges has been taken into custody following a traffic stop on December 9t. At approximately 2:40 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed the wanted male in the passen- ger seat of a Hyundai sedan that was travelling westbound on Huron Road near Division Line. A traffic stop was completed and the wanted male was placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest found the male to be in possession of Methamphetamine, Can- nabis Marihuana, a prohib- ited weapon ("flick" knife) and drug paraphernalia. A 25 -year-old from Huron East has been charged with the following offences: Possession of a Schedule 1 Sub- stance (Methamphetamine) for the Purposes of Trafficking contrary to section 5 (2) Con- trolled Drugs & Substances Act. Possession of a Schedule 11 Substance (Cannabis Mari- huana) Under 30 Grams con- trary to section 4 (1) Controlled Drugs & Substances Act. Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon contrary to sec- tion 91 (2) Criminal Code. Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1 (1) Criminal Code - 3 Counts. EXETER 37 -year-old driver from Exeter is facing criminal code charges of "Drive Motor Vehicle - Over 80 Milligrams" and "Fail to Com- ply with Recognizance" charges following a traffic stop that took place yesterday afternoon. At approximately 2:20 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provin- cial Police (OPP) received infor- mation pertaining to a possible impaired driver. A few minutes later a Huron OPP officer spot- ted the suspect driver travel- ling southbound on William Street. The officer followed the suspect vehicle, a black Volvo sedan, a short distance to Sanders Street East where a traffic stop was initiated. While speaking with the driver the officer detected the odour of alcohol on the driver's breath. A roadside screen- ing test was performed and the driver registered a fail. He was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. He subsequently pro- vided two samples of his breath to a qualified IntoxilizerTechni- cian; both samples registered over the legal limit. Also during the course of the investigation police learned the driver was breaching an alcohol related condition of his court release. As a result, 37- year-old from Exeter has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle - Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol & Fail to Comply with Recognizance. He has been released from custody with an upcoming court appear- ance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on January 28, 2016. He also received an automatic 90 -day driver's licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days. HURON EAST A pickup truck owner from the Ethel area had an early morn- ing surprise this past week when he woke up to find his truck had been stolen. Some- time during the early morn- ing hours of December 10th, 2015 those responsible located the pickup truck parked at a residence located on Cardiff Road. Those responsible for the theft located the keys to the truck inside the unlocked vehi- cle and easily drove away. The stolen pickup is described as a 2002 dark grey, Ford F-250 diesel engine with a long box. Also stolen from the truck were various tools and a red 70 gallon external fuel tank. The truck is valued around $8,000 and the stolen tools are valued at $2,000. BLUEWATER An impaired driver that nearly took a splash in the Bayfield River last week is facing a number of charges after police responded to a collision at the Bayfield Marina & Harbour. Just before 8:00 a.m. on December 9 Huron County OPP officers responded to the col- lision scene located at the Bay- field Marina. Police arrived on scene to find a GMC Acadia nearly crashed into the river at the north pier. The vehicle was found to be stuck on a cement post in a very precarious position. Inside the vehicle, officers observed a male occupying the driver's seat sound asleep. Officers were able to rouse the male and safely get the male out of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver officers noted the male had been drinking alcohol and also noticed he was displaying several signs that his ability to drive a motor vehicle was impaired by alco- hol. As a result, the driver was arrested for Impaired Care & Control. He was subsequently transported to the Huron OPP Detachment where he provided samples of his breath to an Intox- ilizer Technician. Both of his tests registered over the legal limit. 36 -year-old from Goderich has been charged with Impaired Care & Control, Care & Control Over 80 Milligrams, Careless Driving and Care & Control of a Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Liquor. He has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 11, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich. He also received an automatic 90 -day driver's licence suspen- sion and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
